A lawyer by profession practising in England and Wales, Mohamed Ali has dedicated a part of his life to Islamic Media and Islamic causes within the halal economy.
In 2004 Mohamed Ali founded Islam Channel TV to dispel misconceptions of Islam and to act as a voice between Muslims and non-Muslims to promote inclusivity and mutual respect between different communities, faiths and cultures. Islam Channel is a leading international media partner in many countries across the globe having partnered with many international Islamic conferences and exhibitions ranging from the halal economy to inter-faith dialogue.
Under his leadership, Islam Channel cemented itself as the premiere Muslim Broadcast entity in the West that produces a broad range of programmes, debates, symposiums, interviews and documentaries engaging with leading pundits, experts and commentators to provide an ‘alternative discourse’ on the key stories in both the Muslim and non-Muslim world. Since its inception, Islam Channel reach has spread across 9 million homes in the UK and over 100 countries across Europe, The Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Mohamed Ali went on to expand Islam Chanel into a Media Group that now consists of four T.V channels including Islam Channel Urdu, Islam Channel Bangla and France Islam as well as a social media company, charities, a consultancy and a satellite provider
Mohamed Ali is further committed to the development of the halal Islamic economy and has over the years undertaken several new projects within Islamic finance and services with the hope of providing a range of Shariah complaint products and services.
An outspoken champion for the destitute, Mohamed Ali has played a pivotal role in supporting leading UK charities in coordinating and the transition of humanitarian, medical supplies and essential medicines overseas through a series of televised charity appeals and fundraising events which have raised close to £1billion in the past 20 years. Mohamed Ali also serves as a Trustee for many Islamic foundations, universities and charities.
In addition to making a milestone for Islamic Media, Mohamed Ali has achieved an exceptional track record in the delivery of key and iconic events from the launch of The Global Peace and Unity Festival 2005, the largest event in the west, which has attracted over 50,000 attendees yearly to the very first ‘Islamophobia conference’ held in Denmark in 2006. Other notable events include the Islam Channel Business Awards which provide a significant platform for recognising the entrepreneurial accomplishments of British Muslims, Islam Channel’s UK nationwide cinema release of the first animated feature of its kind ‘Muhammad (PBUH) The Last Prophet’ and the prestige Ilm Day event which celebrated young exceptional Muslim achievers.
In the field of education, Mohamed Ali’s academic background spans continents. Initially having studied engineering, Mohamed Ali went on to study Philosophy and Theology, as well as Politics and Geography at the University of Westminster, Applied Linguistics at the University of London and English Law at The University of Law. Mohamed Ali was also honoured with an honorary degree in the Doctor of Sciences.
Mohamed Ali served as a Member panel of Independent Judges for The Association for International Broadcasting’s ‘Media Awards’, is a Member of the National Union of Journalists, a Member of the Law Society, a Member of the British Institute of Directors and a Member of the Governing Council, Crescent University Nigeria.
