Noor has global experience of more than 35 years in destination marketing, association management, business development and event management, where travel and tourism have always been part of his DNA.
He started his career with the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, now known as Tourism Malaysia for more than 16 years and was given the opportunity to serve the Los Angeles office which covers the US travel market. Subsequently, he joined the corporate sector, working for companies that specialise in managing international sporting events and hospitality and tourism investment.
In more recent years, he was the Regional Director of Asia Pacific for the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), a meetings industry trade association headquartered in Amsterdam, where he manages membership recruitment and retention, regional operations, training and collaborative initiatives from the Kuala Lumpur office. He served ICCA for 11 years. During the pandemic, his focus turned to aiding Malaysia’s recovery in the business events industry, with his appointment as Chief Operating Officer to the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
Because of his passion for helping the Asia Pacific region to grow, he was inducted into the prestigious Hall of Leaders by the Events Industry Council during IMEX America in Las Vegas, in October 2022. The EIC award honours individuals with exemplary achievements within the global business events industry. In 2018, he was the recipient of the China MICE Hall of Leaders Award, an award conferred by the China Meetings Industry Convention and MEetings China for his relentless effort in China.
He graduated from the MARA Technological University (UiTM), Malaysia majoring in Tourism Administration.
